Our Mission is “to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ through the operation of a drop-in centre that provides food, clothing, friendship and counsel to those in need”.

Who Are We?

The Open Door is a Westmount-based drop-in centre and a ministry of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. It is operated by a Director, and volunteer staff. The volunteers who help out are often in the same situation as those they serve. We offer a day program to homeless and other low-income persons living in or near Downtown Montreal.

We are open from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon.

    What Makes A Caring Community?

A community that actively shows that it cares for those in need has a soul. By supporting the Open Door, you are not just saying, “Someone should help these people!", but instead, “I will help these people".

By providing these services, we (and you) can make a positive difference in real lives. When someone has warm food in their stomachs, has just had a hot shower, and has clean clothes to wear, their outlook becomes more hopeful.

    "What can I do?"

Now that you mention it, we need people of good will who want to see their charitable donations make a direct difference. Your kind giving, whether by cheque, or the donation of appropriate goods keeps us up and running.
