This year Christmas Day will see members of St. Stephen’s and their friends involved in an act of service as opposed to simply a worship service . From 10.00am-2.00pm we will be preparing and serving food together at The Open Door operating in St. Stephen’s Church Building at 4006 Dorchester. We’d love it if you wanted to join us in celebrating Jesus’ birth in this way with our friends at The Open Door.

We are delighted to announce that Nick Brotherwood has agreed to be Pastor at St. Stephen’s. Nick has a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus and for years has been looking at “Fresh Expressions” – ways to make the witness of the Church more authentic and accessible to the world. His gifts will merge perfectly with St. Stephen’s as we move ahead in doing the work of Jesus in our city and our lives.

September 6, 2010 Monday – Labor Day Dinner.

Everyone is invited to a Labor Day dinner at St Stephens House at 5 pm. The dinner will be followed by a short meeting around 7:30pm, to talk about the coming year, share ideas, comments, and feedback, and a time of prayer.

ALPHA – St. Stephen’s is holding our first Summer Sunday morning Alpha. Everyone is welcome to join us in a small community group for an exploration of the Christian faith, a time to ask hard questions and have fun.

This is what ALPHA is about

- a time to ask questions in a relaxed, freindly and fun environment.

ALPHA will be incorporated into our Sunday morning gathering for July and August from 10:30 – 12:30. ALPHA is a course which offers an exploration of the Christian faith. The content consists of a video format followed by discussion The course is designed for people interested in learning about Christianity but it also offers everyone a chance to renew their faith, ask questions of all sorts, and learn how to share our faith.

The is no charge and all are welcome.

Tuesday Pancake Supper!

Tuesday Pancake Supper! February 16, 2010 at 6 PM.

Traditionally Shrove Tuesday is Pancake Tuesday. It is the day before Ash Wednesday which is the beginning of Lent. Pancakes were considered to be a real luxury especially with syrup and and were served before Lent began when many people give up something in preparation for Easter.
